Day 2

Bottle House Day 1!
Waking up without AC and in a bug net was very unusual for me. I knew I would get acclimated to this lifestyle after a couple days of this- after all I would only be here for a week. We were served breakfast, and off we went to the first bottle house site. I truly didn’t know what a bottle house looked like, or the process of building one. We met a 7 Elements staff member Boni, who was very energetic and fun to be around. He kept playing Nicki Minaj and DJ Khaled, and I knew I would get along with him! He showed us how to cut and stack the bottles. A few hours later we were served food by a super nice lady who had a house right next door. This was my first time having plantains, and THEY ARE SO GOOD! We continued working on the bottle house a couple of hours later. It was a good feeling knowing I was helping with foundation of someone’s future home.
